Martyn got up to check on the sheep at 3am and .discovered that a ewe had just had her twin ewe lambs. The ewe and her lambs were moved to a lambing pen and given scour halt and iodine applied to their navels. The ewe was only producing milk on one side so the weaker of the two lambs was given manufactured colostrum. When we were certain that the lambs had a drink we went back to bed for a couple of hours .
Later in the day at teatime a shearling had twin ram lambs. The ewe was so keen to clean her lambs that she chased them around in circles as they attempted to find the teats. Help was needed to keep the ewe still whilst the lambs fed.
